Silvina (she/ her/ ella) is a cisgender, queer/ pansexual, 1.5 gen, multi-cultural immigrant from Latin America, moving into the US in her teens- a crucial time for anyone to go through a culture shock. Silvina’s family were refugees before she was born, and she therefore was born into family of origin/ ancestral complex trauma. Silvina believes that while these experiences have left permanent scars in her life, they have also made her have empathy and deep respect for the difficult emotional experiences of others.
In terms of social locators, Silvina is a cisgender Latine/x queer/ pansexual individual in a hetero-normative partnership. She is a parent, a 1.5 gen immigrant and multicultural individual, born and raised in Mexico City by Argentinean parents/ ancestors. Silvina lives in a white and able- body with chronic autoimmune issues.
Clinical Approach
Silvina incorporates somatic/ brain-based therapy into conventional talk therapy approaches. She enjoys working with folx from various multicultural backgrounds and especially the Latinx/e community. Silvina is LGBTQ+ affirming and inclusive in her approach, considering how the intersection of identities and issues has affected or molded each person. Silvina is Mexican from Argentine ancestors and while she has experienced xenophobia, she holds the most white privilege a Latinx can have.
Silvina has extensive training working with PTSD/ Trauma/ Complex Trauma and Anxiety, and also has experience working with drug/alcohol issues, family discord, chronic illness, grief, and attachment wounds. Silvina’s approach encompasses her training in Brainspotting Psychotherapy/ Somatics, Narrative Therapy, TF-CBT, Mindfulness, and Breathwork. Silvina is fully bilingual in English- Spanish. Folx often seek out working with Silvina after they’ve tried talk therapy for some time and are looking for a deeper emotional/ somatic process.
